Enjoy summer at the SWFC

In order to satisfy the enormous amount of visitors which Shanghai has experienced over the summer due to the Expo, the SWFC observatory has extended its opening hours from 8am until midnight (with the last admission being at 11pm) every day until September 5. Shanghai has experienced an enormous tourist boom with the Expo – on July 21, the number of the total visitors to the Expo broke through the 30 million mark.
Many Expo visitors have incorporated a visit to the SWFC as part of their tour of Shanghai, including a visit to our observatory deck – the highest in the world. Photographs taken by visitors from the deck can be entered into our second SWFC Observatory photo contest which will be held from August 1.
